EATING OUT Enjoy your meals on a roof with a view

It is that time of the year when rooftop restaurants attract people who are out to beat the heat. `Terrace Green' at South Park offers a wide range of grilled and tandoor items and a panoramic view of the city. A live band is an added attraction.
Sea food
You can choose your dish from `Catch of the day.' The fishes, which are kept in a country boat, include pearl spot, pomfret and tiger prawns. But one has to be there early in the evening to net the best from the `Catch of the day' as this is one speciality that sells out quickly.
Continental dishes are served on demand. For starters, you can try out Paneer Ka Sula (Rs.120 a plate), which is cooked to a light brown and dipped in mint. Chicken Hariyali kebab is cooked in coriander and mint.
For the main course the chef Govindan Mohan recommends grilled pomfret and tiger prawns. Gambroni Rossie has tiger prawns marinated in olive oil and served along with garlic sauce and steamed vegetables.
For vegans
For vegetarians, he recommends vegetable khatti roll (Rs.100). `Gambroni Rossie,' four prawns with a dash of pepper, melts in your mouth. The grilled pomfret might be a trifle bland for the tastes of Malayalis.
The other non-vegetarian items available are Chicken Tikka Nishapuri, Chicken Reshmi Kebab, Malai Tangri Kebab and Chicken Hariyali Kebab. For vegetarians, there is Paneer Ka Sula, Mirchi Ka Gobhi, vegetable Sheek Kebab, Vegetable Khatti roll and a tandoori platter. The items are priced between Rs.100 and Rs. 300. The tiger prawns cost Rs.600 a plate.
