BJP national executive in Jaipur from May 31

Jaipur (PTI): A three day national executive of the BJP beginning here on May 31 would take up among others, the issues of internal security and inflation.

Party president Rajnath Singh, senior leaders L K Advani, Jaswant Singh, M M Joshi and Chief Ministers of Gujarat and Rajasthan Narendra Modi and Vasundhara Raje respectively would be the chief speakers in seven sessions that would also pass political, economic and law and order related resolutions, its vice president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi told a press conference here.

Fifty-five working committee members, 44 special invitees, 35 national functionaries, BJP-ruled chief ministers and NDA partners in Bihar, Punjab, Meghalaya and Nagaland would take part in the three-day deliberations, Naqvi said.

The party would also devote time to prepare a list of candidates for the Lok Sabha polls due next year, he said. However, lists of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Delhi would not be prepared as these states face assembly polls later this year.

Naqvi also praised the Raje government for the steps it took after the May 13 serial blasts here to restore normalcy.

He said that "illegally staying Bangladeshis should be sent back and the Centre should change the existing Illegal Migrant Deportation Act in Assam, and enable states like Rajasthan to deport them," and demanded that POTA should be reintroduced to contain terrorism.

To a question, Naqvi said the BJP government had no prior information from the Centre on apprehension of terror activity in the Pink City.
